It is really sad to hear such news. Masquerade kills Muslim leaders in Osun State. How did they get there, what did they want? Those are the kind of questions that comes to mind. While all those are not clear as of now.
However, we have gathered some reports on the unexpected incident.
The Osun State Muslim Community (OSMC) has called on the Osun State government and the police department to assure the prosecution of the culprit. And to ensure the safety of Muslims in the Date.
Unfortunate as it sound. In Qamarudeen Mosque Ita Olookan a group of traditional worshipers make their way to the mosque, and they caused the death of a Muslim group leader, Alhaji Alfa Moshood Salahudeen, while other 14 people were injured, including children and women.
However, the President of OSMC, Alhaji Mustafa Olawuyi, and the General Secretary, Alhaj Hashim Olapade, the Muslim community jointly signed a statement and proclaimed the man who led the attack, Kayode Esuleke, must face the full wrath of the law.
Seriously enough, it was said that Esuleke, who is a Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state, was boasting, after killing Alhaji Alpha Moshood Salahudeen that he cannot be arrested due to his connection in the state.
Mr Olowuyi, the president of OSMC warned that the state government should not allow for intolerance of Islam and those who practice it. To take the necessary steps to put peace in place. So that safety could be in the State of Osun.
The Muslim community however commended the state Governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, for his timely intervention in ensuring treatment of those injured.
